We also learned during the reveal that Cold War will be releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will also be launching for next-generation consoles — PS5 and Xbox Series X — at that time.
Here’s what we know about the game’s pre-order bonuses, current-gen physical and digital editions, and its next-gen versions.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War — Reveal Trailer
Judging by its new announcement trailer, you can expect lots of cinematic moments in Black Ops Cold War. There will be a single-player campaign, as well as multiplayer and Zombies modes. The game will also have ties to Warzone.
Activision confirmed it will feature a Battle Pass system and seasonal content to enjoy throughout its life cycle, though it’s unclear what to expect on that front.
It’s important to know that Black Ops Cold War will be available both physically and digitally on console, but the PC version will be exclusive to Battle.net.
Black Ops Cold War Pre-Order Bonus
Regardless of which version of Black Ops Cold War you pre-order, you’ll gain access to the Woods Operator for use in Modern Warfare and Warzone right now, along with a weapon blueprint, and access to the beta (which will be available first for PS4 users).
Current-Gen Standard Editions
Price: $59.99
The standard version of Black Ops Cold War will be available to purchase and pre-order digitally and physically and will include a copy of the game, as well as the pre-order bonuses.
Oddly enough, there are some caveats when it comes to upgrading to next-gen systems, depending on which current-gen system you’re on.
PS4 players, regardless of whether they buy the game digitally or physically, can upgrade to the PS5 version for a fee. It’s expected the upgrade fee will be $10, but this hasn’t been confirmed as of this writing.
However, Xbox players will have a bit of a tougher time. As of right now, it’s unclear if digital buyers will be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version, but Activision did confirm customers who buy the physical Xbox One versions will not be able to upgrade.

Cross-Gen Bundle
Price: $69.99
If you plan on getting a next-generation system, whether it’s a PS5 or Xbox Series X, you’ll want to grab the Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen bundle, which will cost an additional $10.
This edition will give you access to both versions within the same family (PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X). Note that this version is only available digitally.
Next-gen versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will launch on November 13, alongside their current-gen counterparts.
Since we don’t know when the next-generation versions of Black Ops Cold War will launch, it’s unclear how long you’ll have to wait after the release of the current-gen version before being able to upgrade. They may launch on the same day, but for right now, nothing is set in stone.

Currently, these are the only known versions and pre-order bonuses for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
